Barahir of Tâl-Rimmon

Barahir of Tâl Rimmon or Barahir the Huntsman (b. TA 2939) is a nobleman in western Anórien. He is the son of Galdor the Bold, a nobleman of Rhovanion descent, and Adaneth of Belfalas.

Barahir's youth was marked with intemperance and debauchery; he was briefly betrothed to one of Theoden's sisters, but she ended the engagement upon learning of his decadent lifestyle. His parents were extremely disappointed, and sent him to Belfalas to work as a captain. During his years at sea he met Hiril, the daughter of a wealthy landowner in Linhir. They were promptly married, returning to Anórien and bearing two sons, Bregolas and Belegund. In TA 2996 Barahir inherited the lordship of the region.

Barahir has imposing dark gray eyes, and dirty blond hair that reveals his northern heritage. As his epithet suggests, he has a deep passion for hunting (often taking priority over his official and familial duties). Adaneth, whose first husband was killed by a boar in Tumladen, disapproves strongly but to no avail.
