Derynost "Fort of the oaks" is a garrison situated at Anórien between Lisclorn, Pelandros and Rammas Echor.
This fort was built by Aran Minalcar (Rómendacil II) as a part of his Anduin defense project, and as a western stretch of Andros-Pelandros. It was destroyed during Kinstrife and abandoned for long periods. Arandur Denethor I renewed the garrison and it's been occupied since. It shields Rammas from the Lisclorn-Andros gap.
Settlements existed and formed around the fort for an unrecorded time. Our village represents one of such. A communal Solma, dated from the era of Valacar (Middle Royal-Neo) stands as a landmark.
During the assault of Anórien in RoTK, Derynost was besieged from March 10-11 of 3019 to 15th, more or less.
