The largest source of wealth for the town would be the cattle market, bringing in livestock from Rohan and provincial Anórien. Most residents of the town are farmers or herdsmen, with a decent sized ''taverna'' to accommodate merchants traveling through the area.

In later days however, as the quarrying of new stone diminished, the wealth of the town has dried up.
