It is possible military camp already existed in Pre-Alliance Colonial era. Throughout Expansion period, a garrison was first built and townland formed around it. At ship kings' reign, Androbel was a city of modest size on the route connecting eastern colonies with provinces north of Whites. During Kin-Strife Castamir sieged and took the city, where the large portions were destroyed by fire. The city still continued to prosper, until Great Plague reached it and devastated the population. City management was soon restored under Tarondor's regin though the population never recovered as before. Fall of eastern provinces by Wainriders also reduced considerable amounts of trade. But this meant increasing importance of Cair Andros as well. Early migrants and refugees from Ithilien seem to have settled at the city. However in the last few centuries of 3rd age Androbel has come to desertion of most people. In TA 3006, Androbel merely consists of garrisons and community of farmsteads that support Cair Andros.
